We run a morning session for 7th - 9th graders (8 - 11 AM) and an afternoon session for 10th - 12th (11:30 AM - 2 PM).

Catalyst Game Dev Summer Boot Camps
Interested in learning to create your own games? Join us at the Davis Catalyst Center Game Development lab to improve your Game Development skills from art to programming and more! (*All games will be made in Unreal Engine 5 and students will be given a USB so that they can take their finished game/models home with them)
This summer, we are holding 5 different camps:
June 2nd – 5th | 3D Modeling Basics
Learn how to build simple 3D models and character models in Maya then import them into Unreal Engine! (for beginners or those who have never used Maya to model before)
June 9th – 12th | Fighting Game
Learn how to build basic mechanics of a 1v1 fighting game, including character/stage select and 1v1 combat.
June 23rd – 26th | FPS Game
Learn how to create a simple FPS (first-person shooter) game including sprinting, reloading, and score-based combat
July 7th – 10th | RPG Game
Learn how to build basic mechanics of an RPG (role-playing game) including character selection, simple quests and dialogue choices.
July 14th – 17th | 2D Bosses & Lairs
Learn how to draw, design, code and create boss levels and lairs for a 2D pixel art game in Unreal Engine
Each session is unique so feel free to sign up for multiple sessions!
There will be two sessions each day that are divided by grade level:
8 AM - 11 AM | Grades 7th – 9th
11:30 AM – 2:30 PM | Grades 10th – 12th
*Grade going into for this upcoming school year
*If a student is more advanced in their experience with Unreal Engine, they may email the instructor for permission to enroll in the older age group (afternoon session). The afternoon session will move at a faster pace and cover more topics than the morning session.
