The Innovative Grant by the Davis Education Foundation supported our new CE Chemistry 1115 class by allowing us to purchase needed lab equipment. The equipment included Vernier Labquests and gas pressure sensor kits. The Labquests were able to be used for multiple labs throughout the department. This funding was crucial to providing students with a true college lab experience. Many students expressed how they enjoyed the pressure lab and how it facilitated their understanding of pressure relationships and gas law.

Serving on our School Community Council is a wonderful way for parents and teachers to contribute and help improve academic performance at our school. The school receives an annual dividend from the school trust lands. Our council decides how these funds will be used. This year our school has received approximately $297,000 from the School LAND TRUST Program. The council also reviews and prepares other academic and safety plans for our students each year. All plans are reviewed for final approval by our school board.
Every public school in Utah has a School Community Council. The councils are made up of school employees who are elected by employees and parents who are elected by parents of students attending the school. Membership terms are for two years. Elections are held at the end of each school year.
Parent members must have a student attending the school during the first year of the two-year term. Employees must be employed by the school district at the school. Clearfield High School has four parent and two staff Community Council seats open this year.
If you are interested in serving on the CHS Community Council, please scan the QR code and complete the form by April 29 to become a candidate.
The Clearfield High School Community Council election will be held May 4-8 through the my.DSD system.

This week in our childcare center, our young friends learned about jobs. Officer Schuler taught them about what he does as a police officer and how he keeps everyone safe at CHS. He even arranged a practice 911 call and caught the classroom candy napper! ◡̈
Super big thanks to Officer Schuler and all our staff here at CHS for the jobs we all do to help others learn, grow and stay safe!
